Honda Canada’s current promotional offers on select 2026 models include financing as low as 1.99% APR and $500 Honda Finance dollars on select Civics, with competitive lease rates on Civic and CR-V trims. All current offers are valid through June 1, 2026. The Bank of Canada’s overnight rate sits at 2.75%; prime rate is 4.95%. CARFAX Canada / Honda dealer network, May 2026
What it means: The 1.99% APR offer is below prime by nearly 3 points. That gap doesn’t happen by accident — Honda Financial Services is subsidizing the rate to move specific inventory, and that subsidy costs Honda money per unit. The only reason Honda does that is when there’s a target to hit: a model-year transition, a hybrid mix goal, or end-of-quarter volume pressure. Right now, all three are in play. The 2027 Civic platform announcement is coming later this year, Q2 ends June 30, and Honda Canada needs to demonstrate hybrid volume growth after its global pivot. The current stack — 1.99% rate plus $500 cash on Civics — is the result of those pressures landing at the same time. June’s offers will reset, and while they may be competitive, the specific combination available today may not reappear.
My prediction: June 2026 will bring a new Honda Canada incentive round targeting hybrid-specific trims more aggressively than May — specifically CR-V Hybrid and Accord Hybrid — as Honda Canada redirects subvention from gas trim clearance toward hybrid mix targets. The current gas trim lease offers may not hold, but a comparable or better hybrid-focused stack arrives by July 1.
If you’re buying right now: If you’ve already test-driven and you know which trim you want, finalizing your deal before June 1 locks in the confirmed offer. June may be as good or better, but it’s unknown — and the current stack is confirmed. If you’re still deciding between gas and hybrid trims, wait: the next incentive round is likely to narrow the gap further in the hybrid’s favour.

I can run your numbers on the current stack today — lease vs. finance, gas vs. hybrid — so you can make a clear call before the month-end deadline.
