The rally truck is unmodified. The Canadian number that matters is already published: 245 mm of clearance, arriving this fall.

Update, October 6: Honda Canada published 2027 Passport TrailSport pricing a few hours after this brief went up: $58,740 MSRP to start, arriving at dealerships in October. The full price walk is here.

The news: American Honda is putting an unmodified 2027 Passport TrailSport into the 2026 Rebelle Rally, America’s longest off-road navigation event. The route starts outside Las Vegas on October 8 and finishes more than 1,500 miles later near the Imperial Sand Dunes in California on October 17. Teams navigate with paper maps and a compass. Phones and GPS stay out. Honda’s entry is team #208, the Good TrailSports, in the X-Cross Bone Stock class. The drivers are Abby Connolly and Amy Hein, both Honda associates in Raymond, Ohio, and both Rebelle rookies. This is Honda’s eighth year in the event. American Honda, October 5, 2026

What it means: This is not a Canadian special edition, and it is not a reason to treat a desert rally as a cottage-road test. The useful part is the rule Honda set for itself. The truck runs without changes to the chassis, the off-road suspension, the 3.5-litre V6, the 10-speed automatic, or the i-VTM4 all-wheel drive. If something breaks, Honda’s own engineers are the ones writing it down. If it does not break, the 2027 TrailSport has a public durability note that a brochure angle cannot fake.

The Canadian spec was already on paper

Honda Canada published the hardware on September 9 from Markham. The 2027 Passport TrailSport gets 245 mm of ground clearance, which Honda Canada also writes as 9.6 inches, up 35 mm from the 2026 TrailSport. Approach and departure go to 25 degrees, up 2. Breakover goes to 23 degrees, up 3. Honda Canada says 28 suspension and related chassis parts were redesigned, reengineered, or new, including nearly 70 percent of the major suspension pieces, and that the models begin arriving at dealerships later this fall. TrailWatch, with front, rear, side, and 360-degree views, is standard on TrailSport trims. No 2027 price was in that release. Honda Canada Newsroom, September 9, 2026

Honda Canada also said that 245 mm is more ground clearance than the Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium, the Subaru Outback Wilderness, and the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch. That is Honda’s comparison, named to those trims, not a claim that the Passport out-clears every body-on-frame truck. The rally does not change the comparison. It is the stress test Honda chose for the suspension it already described.

My prediction: By January 15, 2027, at least one Canadian Honda dealer will have a 2027 Passport TrailSport VIN allocated or on the ground, because Honda Canada said on September 9 that the models begin arriving later this fall. I’ll be wrong if no Canadian dealer has a 2027 Passport TrailSport allocation by that date.

If you’re buying right now: A 2026 Passport TrailSport can be quoted today. The 2027 is the one with the extra 35 mm and the angles Honda just published, and Honda Canada priced it later the same day, from $58,740 MSRP. Wait if that clearance is the reason you want a Passport. Do not wait if you need a truck this month and a 2026 TrailSport already does the job. Text me the trim and I’ll tell you what the October program does on the 2026, and whether a 2027 allocation is real yet.

Quick answers

Is the Rebelle Rally Passport a special Canadian model?

No. American Honda entered an unmodified 2027 Passport TrailSport as team 208, the Good TrailSports, in the X-Cross Bone Stock class. Honda Canada has not announced a rally edition. The Canadian news is the suspension already published on September 9, 2026: 245 mm of ground clearance, arriving at dealerships later this fall.

What off-road numbers did Honda Canada publish for the 2027 Passport TrailSport?

Honda Canada lists 245 mm, or 9.6 inches, of ground clearance, up 35 mm from the 2026 TrailSport. Approach and departure angles are 25 degrees, up 2 degrees. Breakover is 23 degrees, up 3 degrees. Honda Canada also said 28 suspension and related chassis parts were redesigned, reengineered, or new.

Should a Vaughan buyer wait for the 2027 Passport TrailSport?

Only if the extra clearance is the reason you are shopping. Honda Canada priced the 2027 TrailSport from $58,740 MSRP on October 6, 2026. A 2026 Passport TrailSport can be quoted on the current program. Waiting is reasonable if you want the lifted suspension and can wait for a truck to be allocated.

Want the 2026 number, or a note when a 2027 is allocated?

Tell me TrailSport or TrailSport Touring. I’ll quote the current program and say plainly if a 2027 is on the sheet yet.
