For most GTA families, the Sport-L is the sweet spot — leather throughout, heated steering wheel with red stitching, integrated 2nd- and 3rd-row sunshades, power tailgate, memory-linked side mirrors, wireless charging, and SiriusXM. Touring adds the rear-seat entertainment system (12.8-inch screen with HDMI), CabinWatch rear camera monitor, navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, ventilated front seats, and hands-free power tailgate. The Black Edition is the look-trim with gloss black accents and red ambient lighting but no mechanical changes from Touring.
Yes — Odyssey is a strong GTA winter family hauler. The 3.5L V6 has plenty of cold-start torque, the cabin heats up fast, the heated steering wheel and heated seats front-and-rear are standard on most trims, and the heated wiper area clears ice quickly. The trade-off vs CR-V or Pilot: lower ground clearance means deep unplowed snow is harder. For plowed GTA streets, an Odyssey with all-season tires is fine; for cottage-country winter driving, add a set of winter tires.
Every 2026 Odyssey seats 8 with the standard Magic Slide 2nd-row bench. The Magic Slide seats slide side-to-side and fore-aft independently, so you can separate two child seats, create a walk-through to the third row, or push both seats together for a third passenger. The 3rd row is a one-motion 60/40 split Magic Seat that folds flat into the floor for cargo.
Honda Manufacturing of Alabama in Lincoln, Alabama — every North American Odyssey has been built there since 2006. Not Canadian-built like the Civic and CR-V (Alliston), but Alabama-built Odysseys have a strong reliability record and Honda's global parts supply means dealer support across Canada is excellent.
NRCan rates the 2026 Odyssey at 12.3 L/100 km city / 8.4 L/100 km highway / 10.6 L/100 km combined. Most Vaughan commuter families report 10.5-11.5 in real-world mixed driving. Compare to the gas-only Pacifica (10.6 combined) and the Sienna Hybrid (6.8 combined) — Sienna wins on fuel economy but Odyssey wins on driving engagement, cargo flexibility, and the Magic Slide 2nd row.
