Honda Pilot for Maple and Kleinburg Families

The 2026 Pilot gives you a third row, standard AWD and a real tow rating. Whether it fits your week is the honest question.

Families in Maple and Kleinburg tend to ask me the same thing about the Pilot: is it too big, or is it exactly enough? Fair question. Between soccer runs, cottage weekends up Highway 400 and a driveway that turns to ice in January, the Pilot is the Honda that most often answers all of it in one vehicle. Here is how I think about it when a family sits down with me, using Honda Canada's 2026 numbers rather than a brochure feeling.

The short version

The 2026 Pilot is a three-row SUV with a 3.5L V6 and all-wheel drive on every Canadian trim. It is not a hybrid, and it is imported rather than built in Alliston. If your week includes regular highway driving, winter roads and the occasional full load of people, it fits. If you mostly drive two kids to school ten minutes away, a CR-V will cost you less and park more easily.

Why it suits Maple and Kleinburg

Standard all-wheel drive. Kleinburg has hills and country roads that are not the first ones plowed, and Maple has plenty of long driveways. AWD does not replace winter tires, and I will say that every time, but it does mean you are not shopping for an option package to get it.

A third row that works for real life. It is an occasional-use seat in most families I talk to: a friend's kid, grandparents at holidays, a carpool week. If those seats are used every single day, I will tell you honestly that the Odyssey is a better tool, and I have written that comparison in Pilot or Odyssey for Vaughan families.

Towing without a second vehicle. It is rated to 5,000 lb, which covers most small trailers and boats. If a cottage trailer is part of your summer, that matters more than any horsepower number.

Which trim is worth a look

The Pilot comes in five Canadian trims: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring and Black Edition. Rather than tell you one is best, I suggest deciding in this order. First, how many seats you need, since 7 or 8 depends on the trim and second-row setup. Second, whether you will actually leave the pavement: the TrailSport is built for gravel cottage roads, and it gives up a little cargo (618 L behind the third row instead of 635 L). Third, which comforts you will notice every day. Sit in two trims back to back and the answer is usually obvious within ten minutes.

Three honest cautions

Cross-shopping against the CR-V? I have a plain-English breakdown in Pilot vs CR-V in Vaughan. For current pricing and any support on the Pilot this month, see Honda deals in Canada, and if you would rather see it in person, the Maple and Kleinburg pages show how to get to the lot.

Henry's honest take: The Pilot is the right answer for families who will use the space and the AWD most weeks. If you will not, you are paying for room you do not need. Drive one with the whole family in it and let the third row and the garage decide.

Frequently asked, Vaughan edition

Is the Honda Pilot all-wheel drive in Canada?

Yes. The 2026 Pilot has all-wheel drive standard on every Canadian trim: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring and Black Edition.

How much cargo space does the 2026 Honda Pilot have?

Behind the third row the Pilot has 635 L (618 L in the TrailSport), per Honda Canada's 2026 specifications. Fold the third row and the space grows to about 1,685 to 1,702 L behind the second row.

Is there a Honda Pilot hybrid in Canada?

No. The Pilot is sold in Canada with a 3.5L V6 only, and there is no Pilot hybrid on honda.ca.

Will a Honda Pilot fit in a Vaughan garage?

It is 5,083 mm (about 5.08 m) long, so measure your garage depth before you fall in love with it. Older garages in Maple and Kleinburg can be tight once bikes and storage shelves are counted.
