TL;DR
- Canadian Black Book's latest market archive shows Canadian used wholesale pricing down again for the week ending May 30.
- That does not mean every used Honda is suddenly cheap; condition, mileage, model year, and certification value still decide the number.
- If you plan to trade a Honda this month, get the vehicle appraised before assuming last month's value still holds.
Canadian Black Book's latest market archive lists a 0.49% decline in Canadian used wholesale pricing for the week ending May 30, 2026. The Honda buyer angle is more nuanced than the headline: inspection results, history, reconditioning needs, and retail-ready condition can change what a clean used Honda is worth to a buyer.
What it means: Wholesale movement is the early warning signal, but retail value is still local and vehicle-specific. A clean Civic or CR-V with the right history can hold up better than the headline decline. A high-kilometre unit, an unpopular colour, accident history, or a vehicle that needs reconditioning can move the other way fast.
That is why a June appraisal matters. If your trade-in number was discussed in May, it may already be stale. The market is not crashing; it is becoming more selective. Dealers are still buying the right vehicles, but the gap between a clean, retail-ready Honda and a vehicle that needs work is widening.
My prediction: By July 19, 2026, GTA Honda trade-in values will separate more by condition than by model name. Clean, certified-eligible Civics and CR-Vs will hold firmer than broad wholesale headlines suggest, while units needing tires, brakes, bodywork, or history cleanup will be appraised more aggressively.
If you're buying right now: if you have a trade, bring the VIN, kilometres, service history, accident history, and photos before you shop numbers. A precise appraisal can matter more than waiting for another broad used-market headline.

Predictions are my personal read on market direction, not Honda Canada policy. Used-vehicle values change by VIN, condition, history, mileage, and current retail demand; confirm a current appraisal before making decisions.
